• Tsym Gives – Commitment to Community and Charitable Contributions

Tsymmetry has always had a strong commitment to community and giving, and has been very generous in supporting charities important to the Firm. Tsym Gives expands on Tsymmetry’s strong track record of giving, but in a way that empowers and engages our people by providing a platform for them to personally get involved. Tsym Gives focuses on the charities chosen by our team members, the charities that are important to them, the ones that they are passionate about and in many cases, deeply personal to them. Our team members share information about the selected charities with the entire company to raise awareness. Supporting these charities provides not only an opportunity to contribute much needed money, but also gets our people involved contributing time, and connecting with one another outside of our daily work.

Tsym Gives is proud to announce its support for the following charities:

• So Others Might Eat – SOME. SOME’s comprehensive programs are designed to help our most vulnerable neighbors—people experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty—find pathways out of poverty and achieve long-term stability and success. SOME is an interfaith, community-based service organization that exists to help and support residents of our nation’s capital experiencing homelessness and poverty. SOME offers a variety of services, including affordable housing, counseling, addiction treatment, and job training. In addition, SOME helps meet immediate daily needs by providing food, clothing, and healthcare to those in need.

  As part of Tsym Gives, Tsymmetry Team Members have volunteered time supporting the SOME Center for Employment Training (CET) assisting with resume writing, cover letter writing, and mock interviews.

• A21. A21 is focused on human trafficking awareness and prevention. Human Trafficking – It’s the illegal trade of human beings. It’s the recruitment, control, and use of people for their bodies and for their labor. A21 is driven by a radical hope that the cycle of human trafficking can be broken. A21’s solution: REACH, RESCUE, RESTORE. Because the problem looks different everywhere we work, so do we. Our programs are designed to work together, but can also stand alone–filling critical gaps in the countries and communities we work in.

  As part of Tsym Gives, Tsymmetry Team Members sponsored and promoted the A21 including participation in lunch and learns focused on A21 awareness and engagement.

• Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) Foundation. Supporting families affected by Prion Disease. Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) is a rare, rapidly progressive neurodegenerative disease, one of several Prion Diseases caused by prion proteins that misfold in the brain. There is no treatment or cure and the disease is invariably fatal. The mission of the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation is to support families affected by Prion Disease, raise awareness, and support medical education and research.

  As part of Tsym Gives, Tsymmetry Team Members sponsored and promoted the CJD Foundation raising awareness and engagement.

Lastly, Tsymmetry just supported a special Tsym Gives opportunity as a way to honor and memorialize a Tsym’er who recently passed away. Tsymmetry donated to SOME, A21, and CJD in his name. This employee was kind and generous, always with a smile on his face and a joke at the ready. From all of your fellow Tsym’ers and clients, rest in peace.
